BLACK AND WHITE

Heart is heavy and so seem the eyes

Weary ,drowsiness of mundane life

familiarity taking over,

the coloured pictures turning

Black and white.

Lives running

I at snails pace

still reposing

in no hurry

even for a futile attempt.

SCHMALTZ

Schmaltzy

Tears roll down

mirrored pool of thoughts

in which I fish

Memories of childhood

A relay of knick knack grips me.

A frilled doll,a tea-pot with a broken handle

and some colours

a little girls’ fantasy

paint my nostalgia.

Frilly frocks, wondery twinkling nights,

carefree dreams flying high

how I miss them all

my tiny friends

a navy man, earthen pot and my pink doll

coloured paintings on the wall

Echo of dark caverns and dungeons

ghostly whispers lullby

Alas! if I  could

in the childhood soil

dig back time and bring  that is

no more mine.

A Practiced Art

Has love become so familiar

and its vows so common?

A tentative  or a practiced art.

The cupid strikes and electrons revive

u chat, or tweet or may be then meet

hold hands

lock numbers first instead of looks,

few promises are  hooked,

gifts are at stake

desparate to indulge, togetherness rakes

get drunk with lust instead of feelings

soon love attracts no more interest

and the beloved holds no charm

the papery thin walls of dreams that were gathered

finally calm

again a click, again heart slips and you fall

for yet another game

Oh lame, lost love!

lie like alms in a  beggars hand

is bought in changes

drains  through  impasse derelict streets

orphaned love finds another deflated heart

a temporary nest, or a shack to rest for a while.

THE WORDSMITH

Words live in you,

you write their fate off ,

oodles of beauty

n peace.

You hold,toss,kick, sway and play,

chain-smoke n be gay,

u pipe them like a piper

and they dance to your muse.

Pour

incessantly like the delicate drops of rain

making my heart gain

a beat more.

You juggle

the realities with frailties, verses with emotions

mix them up well,

dress them up with frills and laces.

Dreams wear appearances,

nuiances take shape

dreamy smiles, harsh realities

all well served in the platter.

The magic swoons and cast a spell,

I fall in love and embrace them

making them mine

forever.

Hope

 My hope is a seed
An entity
having life of its own
seeded in the fertile ground of my imagination
a thought so powerful
Deep embedded in the inner recesses of my heart
Hiding somewhere between the layers
Of meticulously done clothes
All lined up and settled
Capturing my subconscious
Circumcising my world
translating my dreams
in the unmapped terrain
sitting on the periphery
crying out to become reality.
I reap it with my blood
It sucks me of my patience and vigour
I caress it, nurture it
It tightens its rein
Smothers
Filling shallow grooves of mind
Become one with blood, flesh n soul
With sunshine of my heart and an air of awe
It ripens and grow
sabotaging my free will, and a thinking mind
Reaching for every contour
It could find

Time withers it away
Dried leaves sway
Blown by my aspiration,
 desiccated n hollowed dreams
Jinxed n perturbed
Hope  lies….

Faith and Hope

You give me hope,
I pray
For miracles to play
A role in my life
Hoping for the unpredictable to happen.

               Time passes
               I pray and pray
              Till reality make holes,
              stick fingers into my dreams
              giving me a sterile pain.

               Hope strengthens me
               I live in utopia
               Put faith on my hope
              Drizella and Anastasia
              Fool around me
              Make merry, dance and laugh
              And I, naïve
             Snow White trust them.

 Still i pray harder
Put all my faith on hope
Giving strength to the wicked sisters
I depend upon them
So does the world
To hope is the only hope
or the world would go askew

                           These  misnomers,
                          Juggle with our lives,
shove us off and leave behind
                          Shattering all
                          Making the reality realize
                         The bitterness that bites.

They are dearer
but once the curtain is down
They nudge us
Shaking us, sucking us, snatching away the ground
On which we have stood for ages
Leaving behind the frail humanity to salvage.

To still hope and have faith
                                               find a new silver lining
                                              A ray of hope
                                              colours, brightness and warmth
which may relieve us of our qualms
Still giving us hope for hoping the unsurpassed.

Love, Lust and Lies...

You whisper in my ears
My heart sings a song
Carrying the pleasure
From one part to another
My heart swells and body blossoms
                         You touch me there
                         Enjoy my swells and curves
Follow my convulsions, reading each nook and corner
Reaching out for the inner recesses of hidden pleasures
                         My heart beats a tango
Lying there and waiting for u to come
Come , come along me
This is the realm of love
Let us dance to the rhythm
Sometimes you lead
And sometimes I plead
I breathe in your air
We merge to become one,
 devoured.
                      Peel off the hesitations
                      Enjoy the juices
                     Of our bodies
                     We heave, moan and cry
                     And then take a sigh
We give away our lazy bodies
to the hungers of the flesh .

Then love changes its attire
Wears a lusty hue
 I still lie down
My body breathing your scents
Thinking what I can do best
To make this man mine
 Forever
For my poor soul doesn’t know
You can never bind
A man’s lazy hunger
He would always pine
Till you can give no more
He will find his own ways
Leave you wondering for life
You will mourn, cry and curse
The day you fell in
Love.
Love is a game
Played by all without the rules
lust and deception are still the same
We all play and don’t rest
Till it dies its own death.
